A WHITE LIGHT

Marcello S. is a young sportsman, who plays rugby, loves football and has always followed passionately his beloved team: the Atalanta F.C.
One day his life is subject to a sudden swerve: a strong headache is a signal of something going in the wrong way. Hours later he was in the operating room to perform a brain surgery. Unfortunately, after the awakening from anesthesia doctors realize they have to go back to operate a further complication. From that moment on Marcello enters a coma and for 52 days mom Ines, dad Luigi, sister Carolina and his most trusted friends become partners of the medical staff at the neurosurgery ward of the Ospedale Maggiore di Bergamo (Main Hospital of Bergamo): the silence, the prayers, the long awaits in the hospital corridors become “pure energy” that tries to pull Marcello away from darkness, in order to give him back the joy for life that has always been with him, in the many foreign trips, in the sports activity...

And this energy (along with the doctors' irreplaceable skill) has produced the desired effect: a few hours after the anesthesist had told the parents his worry that Marcello would not be able to wake up again.... suddenly he exits the coma!
Since then the smiling has taken the place of sadness on the face of everyone involved in this painful experience which... today seems just like a bad dream!
Marcello had lost almost completely the use of the right half of his body and thanks to the love of his relatives (and to an exceptional program of rehabilitation) he now lives a normal life.

This film tells this story by involving its direct protagonists: Marcello, dad, mom, the sister, the
The style is sober, with a particular attention to details, to the spaces between words, to the therapists to be a message of faith to those who live similar experiences (on the line between desperation and abandonment) so that they may never lose hope and the meaning of life but... also think about the fragility of Man.
