A native New Yorker (Buffalo) now residing in Los Angeles, CA a former amateur boxing champion, after graduating high school in 1980 Hosea entered the armed forces (Army) and trained as a Medical Care Specialist. Upon his military discharge in 1983, Hosea traveled extensively while residing in Houston, TX. In 1988 (April 2nd) he met his future wife Jacquelyn. While reading the paper one day Hosea ran across a ad for auditions at the Ensemble theatre in Houston. Never taken a acting class, he auditioned and was cast in his first play "Poison Tree". That same year he was cast as a stand-in for Willard Pugh in "Robo Cop II and appeared in the game show "American Gladiator"
After several plays "Of Mice and Men", "Edmond", Barefoot in the Park", "Spunk" and a National Tour of the play "Whatever Happened to Black Love" Hosea decided to relocate to Oceanside, CA (1997). Where the plan was to build his resume and reel while being able to watch his children grow. After several T.V appearances in shows like, "Tremors", "Firestarter re-kindled", Pensacola Wings of Gold", a re-ocurring role on the Sci-Fi "Chronicle" and getting his SAG/AFTRA card Hosea and family moved to the Los Angeles area to further pursue his career.
After moderate success in 2003 Hosea was cast in the feature "Slip" in which his role as the villain (Trey) won rave reviews. Hosea then turned his energies back to where he got his start, the stage where after several regional theatre productions such as, "Fences" and "Gem of the Ocean" Hosea received his AEA card.
In taking a proactive approach Hosea decided to start learning the film and television business from the other side of the camera. After several video's tried his hand at shooting high school football from 2010 to 2014. After several meetings with his (Wife) executive producer in 2013 Hosea decided to co-write, cast, shoot, edit and act in his first short film "NO MERCY".
In tackling such a complex topic as bullying in his first venture was a undertaking of immense compassion. To examine the complexity of this social calamity, Hosea and cast hope "NO MERCY" opens dialogue and understanding of the residual effect bullying has on everyone. Hosea gives thanks to Jah Rastafari and his wife and children.
