Director Statement

I wrote 333 from a very personal place! And ironically when I look at the world now and all the turmoil and division surrounding abortion and women’s rights, I know this is a powerful story that needs to be told. I wrote it long before abortion was a hot topic in today’s political landscape. I desperately wanted to tell a story about a young woman dealing with the inner conflict of abortion and forcing the audience to see her as human and not as a political issue. I wanted to keep the mood dark and gritty and use tight close ups so that you could feel connected to Mona. All the characters around Mona are the emotions that many women feel post abortion… Regret, Shame, Grief, etc. And then there’s Grace for Mona. Many don’t always find that Grace, however through this film, I’m hoping to inspire many people to give themselves GRACE. Furthermore, I hope to evoke thoughtful conversations surrounding abortion that aren’t steeped in judgment! You don’t know a person’s story, until you listen and observe. 333 is a chance to truly observe Mona’s story.
