"PLAN - I"
“Plan-I” is by no means a scripted reality, but narrates the story of the documentary maker.
As such, this eye opening documentary approaches integration from various angles. Migrants from all corners of the world who now reside in Belgium get their say, whether they have just arrived or have already been living there for a longer while. But we also get to hear the experienced opinion of an integration counselor. Last but not least “Plan-I” takes us back to Uganda where the filmmaker comes from to demonstrate the expectations of those dreaming of the creamy West.
Ak Simba bursts the bubble filled with (des-) illusions about integration from the perspective of the migrants, as well as the natives. Discarding all half-baked stories about migration, it offers the viewer a look into the often harsh reality of the integration process as it is. A must watch documentary for all!

4 CHANCES GERMANY EDITION "SPECIAL JURY AWARD 2016"
Isaac Simba, also known as Ak Simba is an independent filmmaker, moved from Kampala (Uganda) to Belgium in 2013 alongside his Belgian spouse and child. In Africa he worked on various large scale film projects such as the Disney film The Queen of Katwe (assistant property master) and the World Vision film Jamaa (assistant art director & Set dresser). He also worked on numerous Television commercials and documentaries in East Africa. Apart from that, he has worked as a fixer and location scout for several European production companies in Africa.
His personal experience as a migrant provided him with unique insights into integration. The integration process took a different course than he had anticipated. As such “Plan-I” challenges the viewer to take a different perspective on all too fixed opinions on the subject. Does the integration process ever end? How much of your identity are you willing to sacrifice?
Wherever life pushes you, don't accept to be placed in a corner.
