Aloknanda Roy our protogonist was launched by Satyajit Ray in Kanchenjunga a Bengali Film made in 1962. It was shot in Darjeeling and a complete Black and White film. The film is about an upper class Bengali family on vacation in Darjeeling, a popular hill station and resort, near Kanchenjunga.
