"BREAKADVENTURE"
EXPERIMENTAL
Photography is related to the theater. The stage is the frame. The freezing dance pose is similar to photo deduction. The piece's essence is the abstraction, paper handling, and synthesis of sound and movement.

Flow like water burn like fire. The work takes me from Beijing to L.A. and anywhere in between. I am always looking out for challenging projects and passionate people. Above all else, I'm inspired to work with teams that have a hunger for exciting projects and a thirst for adventure.
Why did you make your film?
As an early Bboy back from the beginning of the Millenium (2000) representing Kingsize Crew from Saarbrücken, Germany I was fascinated by new technologies and methods of screening the breaking and been driven by the opportunity to innovate within the medium. The mainstream media always shows typical motion picture ways to publish the dance. Here I wanted to create something out of the box- An artistic piece within artistic and cultural movement.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
In general, it is a unique abstract story which told in that abstract way by the dance. It is an adventure - Breaking Adventure - Breakadventure. This film offers an experimental and abstract technique that you won’t find anywhere else. It's designed to take the audience on an emotional journey, providing an abstract narrative that is both engaging and thought-provoking. The cast, in that case, me delivers a breaking performance, bringing depth and authenticity. With that stop-motioned stunning cinematography and visually reduced work, this film is a feast for the eyes. Every frame and movement was crafted and photographed with care to enhance the viewing experience.
The audience should be prepared to be moved.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
In my film, personal and universal themes are intricately woven together to create an abstract narrative that resonates deeply with both individual viewers and a broader audience. Personal themes such as love for that art form and the motion picture are explored in depth, providing an emotional core to that experimental film. Breaking is a battle dance, like Capoeira or Russian-ukraine Cossack Cavalry Dance, and is portrayed here as an adventure of that kind.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
The evolution of the script and film throughout their development is an experimental process. Just do it. Go with the flow. Free your mind.
The adventure begins with a core idea of abstract paperwork and stop-motion techniques to incorporate the breaking art form. It was done as a university work to learn the stop motion technique and here there wasn´t room for revisions or drafts. In the editing room, the process often evolves further. Scenes were reordered, shortened, or cut entirely. Test screening inside a small theme at the university provides critical but at the same time positive audience feedback. Based on those reactions I also recognized that the stuff was interesting to watch!
What type of feedback have you received so far?
The feedback I received for my experimental animation has been insightful, reflecting various perspectives from audiences from the breaking scene and from the usual viewer, and collaborators inside the film and design industry. Many viewers have praised the unique and innovative visual style of the animation. They appreciate the creativity and artistic boldness, noting that it stands out from more conventional animations incorporating the breaking. Some viewers have found the experimental narrative structure to be exciting and funny. This feedback highlights artistic experimentation. The festival evaluation largely commended the film for its innovation and willingness to push boundaries. The experimental nature is seen as a strength, contributing to the broader landscape of animation as an art form. The proof for that was that the film had received numerous of prices worldwide, was selected and nominated almost everywhere it was sent, and has been sown at the exhibition in Guggenheim-Museum Bilbao - What a great honor!
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Yes, the feedback on the experimental animation has both surprised and challenged my point of view in several key ways! I was pleasantly surprised by how deeply the animation connected emotionally with viewers from the breaking scene as well as from the usual audience. I initially thought the abstract nature might create a sense of distance, a misunderstanding, or something unclear but many viewers reported exciting times and interesting ideas as well as originality, which was unexpected and gratifying.
I anticipated that the experimental style of Breakadventure might be polarizing, yet the feedback showed a significant appreciation for innovation and creativity. You can see that by taking the animation style and incorporating it into the performance of Korea's Got Talent 2in 2012 by Khan and Moon, two exceptional locking dancers. The feedback also provided the wish for more. The audience wanted to see much longer animation as well as a more narrative.
