Frieda and the Hidden Animals
Frieda and the hidden Animals is a short film in 360° virtual reality. Together with Frieda you will explore the Amsterdam Frankendeal park. While the animals are popping up Frieda sings about some philosophical questions that virtual reality brings.
"I am not here and you are not there" and "Is all we see or feel for real?"
This film was made without any sponsoring and with one small 360 'action' camera with one lens, one mobile phone, sound equipment and two laptop computers.
Frieda Gustavs (20 at the time, now 25) is a composition student at the Amsterdam Conservatorium. She is not only our guide in the park but also composed the music and the soundscape.
About Frieda:
Frieda Gustavs grew up traveling back and forth by train between Amsterdam and Stralsund, the latter being a small town on the shore of the Baltic sea. She studies composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2018 she participated in an Erasmus exchange program and studied at the Musikhochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden.
Her musical being was born and grew up in a choir, in the midst of the voices of people, her dearest instruments. She wrote progressive and lauded music for the Opera Forward Festival, the Holland Festival, Orgelpark Amsterdam, NEON choir for new music and Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam.
She finds inspiration in ancient polyphony, world music and contemporary artists of every genre. Her main interest lies with interdisciplinary projects, electronic music, choral music; anything that holds voice.
