2:15 PM

For someone who has lost the light, how can you let them know that there are corners of life that are lit? It doesn't take some great power to bring them into the light. Sometimes social systems or laws give them a glimpse of hope, only to push them back into the shadows and leave them in deeper despair. This story is born out of a fable-like imagination, as one child offers another child the salvation that society has denied them. One day, a ten-year-old child finds a six-year-old isolated from the world. The two children meet at 2:15 p.m., and they are allowed only 15 minutes together. This story is about how those 15 minutes of warmth can break down the cold and high walls. It's a fairy tale about a handful of dirt that becomes a crack in the cement and a flower that blooms in the crack.

Director Biography - Seryong Jeong

Ever since I was a teenager, I dreamed of becoming a documentary producer. And when I was lucky enough to get a three-week internship in the TV series department, it changed my career path in an instant.
When I saw how the film SILENCED changed the world, while the documentary had a small impact on the same subject, I was amazed at the public impact of the commercial genre and the lack of violence that forces the victim to be in front of the camera. So I turned to storytelling much later than my colleagues, and although I'm interested in commercial storytelling, I'm still cautious about the message I'm trying to convey.
The question of "why?" has always driven me, even when there is no reward, and I love the process of exploration and the company I keep. In the future, I want to question the world with my stories, to keep asking questions, to make viewers reflect on themselves and the world around them, and to make the world a better place by expanding our minds together. Specifically, I want to create content that addresses the question "What makes a good adult?" And I want to do it in a very commercial way, which I learned while producing TV dramas.

"There are two brave kids who accomplish something adults cannot. Let the story be about their relationship and friendship."

That was my guiding principle throughout the shooting and post-production. I wanted to create a fairy tale, but not one about saving a neglected child, but one about how the friendship between two children changes their lives.
I wanted to show how the little time allowed for these two children at 2:15 is built up, not only through narrative, but also through art, lighting and music. I was honored to work with two child actors who are acting prodigies.
But with the limited timeframe and environment we had to shoot in, I wanted to make sure that the entire crew, including myself and the adult actors, were on the same page and focused on creating a safe village for the two child actors.
Finally, narrative-wise, I spent a lot of time with the writer on how to portray the parents of the two children in a way that would make the audience reflect on themselves. 2:15 is a story about all of us who have to become independent from our parents at some point, although the timing varies depending on our circumstances. At the same time, I hope the audience will think about what kind of parents and what kind of adults we should be for our children.
