Sprint to the past

Feature short film “Sprint to the past ”- is the debut director's project of Selkin Fedor.The film tells the story of one of the most beautiful sports-rowing, about the fate of its athletes and their memories in our days.It is the story about the three friends, their sporting rivalry in the early 1980es and about the situation in the sport in our days.The story in the film is narrated on behalf of the main character – Oleg. At the beginning of the film we see the life in rowing club and the academy rowing championship. We see the struggle between Sergey, Denis and Oleg in this competition, which was at the beginning of Oleg sports career. After he becomes a great sportsman, winner of Olympic games. Oleg have traveled a lot and was working as a coach in different countries. In our days he is deciding to come back to his homeland. And what he is seeing is disgusting. The most popular and old rowing clubs are closed. He is meeting with his old friends. Sergey is a rich businessman, Denis is a common guard at the gate. After that Oleg is coming to his native rowing club and gets the proposal to become a coach.

Director Biography - Selkin Fedor

I was born in 5.11.1978 in Leningrad. In 1995 I finished secondary school and entered Saint-Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences for faculty of arts. In 1999 I was graduated as a dramatic actor of cinema and theater. From 1999 I was acting as an actor in many Russian TV serials. Also I was acting in the films of famous Russian Director's : “The Ark” and “The Sun” directed by A.Sokurov, “Ugly Swans” directed by K.Lopushansky, “ It's hard to be God” directed by A.German and other films directed by D.Meshiev, S.Snezkin, S.Mikaelian. I was acting in episode in the film “Der Untergang” directed by O.Hirschbiegel and “In Transit” directed by T.Roberts. In 2005 I was the producer of short feature films “I'm from nowhere too”, “Dzen Drive” and also was the main character in this films. In 2009 together with a company of my friends we organised Art Union “Proffy-Studio” and started producing advertising, documentary, short feature and full-length films. I have produced about 30 different projects and write about 20 scripts to advertising and presentation films. In 2012 I acted as a main character in Chinese feature film “Latitude 52” - produced by famouse Chinese director Mailisi. In summer of 2013- i was graduated from “Summer Cinema Academy of Nikita Mikhalkov. As a director i finished short fiction film"Sprint to the past". The main idea of the film is not only to show the rowing but also to understand the feeling of the main hero, to show the relationship between the characters, to show the situation in sport in our times, that situation is typical not only in sport but in many other spheres of life in Russia. Very good words of Sergey ( one of the main characters ) - “ It worked out like that ! “ also reflects the situation in the life of our country in our times.
