Director Biography - Alessia Francischiello

Alessia is known for her first short film "Deep Pockets, Empty Hearts" entirely filmed in Australia, where she lived for 8 years. She works as a Script Supervisor now and cultivates her passion for storytelling by writing and directing her own pieces. Her focus is about gender issues, mental health and self awareness and she works to try and bring all that in her works.

Director Statement

When I read the first draft of "1522" written by Irene Filippi I thought I wanted to help her and be a part of this. The original approach and the delicate touch she conveys in the story convinced me to take on this project and try make it the most immersive experience we could. We knew we had a little or no money at all but that didn't stop us from having that vision. With the help of motivated and talented people we have birthed a beautiful story about courage, wish for community and vulnerability.
