Dark Forces

Petrograd, 1916. Three MI6 operatives hunt for evidence that the infamous healer Grigori Rasputin is working as a German spy, threatening the Allied war effort. Their investigations lead them to discover a plot by the Russian aristocracy to murder the meddling monk. Caught between Russia's growing social unrest, and the military struggles of the Allies, the British officers must choose their course of action, knowing that whatever they decide will affect the course of history.

Based on research challenging the accepted story of the monk's murder, 'Dark Forces' tells the story of how Britain became embroiled in one of the most infamous assassinations of the 20th Century.

Writer Statement

'Dark Forces' is a new interpretation of an infamous tale of murder and secrecy. The assassination of Grigori Rasputin continues to fascinate as it is supposedly the story of the monk who could not be killed. 'Dark Forces' is based on research that offers a new perspective on the story: that an officer of the British Secret Service was the true assassin, rather than a Russian aristocrat. The classic story of murder and secrecy remains, but with all new players that history has forgotten.
