McLean Jackson is a director, producer, and screenwriter from Melbourne, Australia. He has directed and produced TV commercials, short films, and music videos.
These days, stories detailing violent and ruthful acts of gang-related street crime are all too familiar sights. Car jackings, armed robberies, and home invasions committed by youths, propelled into crime by social or economic factors, are becoming increasingly prevalent in the society in which we live.
'The Final Foray' focuses on the topical issue of street crime, examining the themes of obsession, revenge, racial tension, and authoritarianism. This dark thematic content will juxtapose the film’s overly-theatrical style which dramatizes numerous elements of the story, including the highly-organised, militant street gang and the protagonist's mad efforts to retrieve his possessions. The film explores these real-life issues and themes with an absurdly over-dramatic and exaggerated point-of-view, playing upon the dark elements of the story with an off-beat sense of humour. The characters in the film will take their actions extremely seriously. In doing so, the film itself does the opposite, painting the events of the narrative as absurd.
