A love story with a political background, THE WRECK OF THE FROLIC involves Ollie Levy, a Jewish pathologist, and Walker Donovan, an Irish artist and the few weeks from when they meet, fall in love, and meet with life and death. A story of the role of the heart and the existence of the soul, the script’s subject matter includes science, art, the history of the development of Mendocino County, California.

Colleen Smith was an award-winning student in the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, writing both fiction and poetry. She’s been a freelance writer since 1995, and publishes features on the arts, pop culture and gardening in a variety of local, regional and national publications. The author of the critically acclaimed novel “Glass Halo” and the gift book “Laid-Back Skier,” she also has written and art-directed award-winning communications, primarily for nonprofits. She wrote and directed a short documentary film broadcast by Rocky Mountain PBS in 2014 and 2015. The recent recipient of a grant from the Haven Foundation, she’s finishing a screenplay for a feature film, as well as an adaptation of her novel. She’s a member of Women in Film and Media Colorado, National Association of Garden Writers, and a fellow of the Salzburg (Austria) Seminar in American literature.
I write works that are both inspired and inspiring, offering slices of life that enlighten readers, language that both tells a story and illustrates the tale, and metaphors that help us understand the world in a fresh way.
