Experiencing Interruptions?

Irrintzina, the climate generation's call to action

Faced with the feeling of helplessness caused by the extreme gravity of climate change, some activists of the Basque organization Bizi! make a crazy bet: build in a few years an unprecedented mobilization for the COP21 and launch a large non-violent movement for the climate.
From Bayonne to Paris, on multi-pedal bikes, pedal stroke after pedal stroke, multiplying the villages of alternatives, small victories in big mobilizations against the multinationals of fossil energies and the banks that support them, the film tells the stages of this mobilization.

Irrintzina is a cry of alarm about the collapse of our world but it is also a shout of joy pushed by hundreds of determined activists who realized that if, together, they did nothing, nobody would do it in their place.

THE INTENTION
In January 2015, we meet for the first time the Bizi team! who has
launched the Alternatiba movement which we tell the story in our film
Irrintzina, the cry of the climate generation. It was the post-attack weekend of
Charlie Hebdo. This weekend, Bizi! had invited to Bayonne a hundred
activists from all over France wishing to organize a village in their turn
alternatives for COP21. We take the measure of urgency
climate. It's a real shock.
If we do not want to lead humanity to chaos, we must change
quickly our business model and our way of life based on the
growth, looting of resources and exploitation of the poorest. same
if climate change is already under way and is irreversible, "we
can still avoid the worst, "says Txetx Etcheverry, at the origin of the movement.
It's this punch in the belly that we took during those two
years of work on this film.
Everything that has been put in place so far is insufficient. We will not rise
this huge challenge that with the emergence of a massive movement of citizens who
requires change. Through this film, we tell how, hundreds
many people have decided to put all their energy into this fight in a
very hard context of state of emergency and hardening in the face of mobilizations
citizens.
Like the Basque ancestral cry from which it borrows the name, our documentary film
mentary
Irrintzina, the cry of the climate generation is a warning cry against
the climate emergency and a cry of hope launched by hundreds of activists from
Alternatiba movement.

With Irrintzina, we want to show that we can act collectively
for alternatives to move up a gear and we have them
ways to combat those responsible for climate change.
Being organized, having a good strategy and demonstrating
imagination and daring, we can take up this battle. We can
achieve this by building a radical, non-violent and determined movement where
everyone can find their place. We believe that Irrintzina can participate
to this great challenge by spreading this cry of the climate generation.
