NANCY ALLISON is a New York-based dancer, choreographer, filmmaker and educator. Her first film, "Hamadryad" received an Award of Merit from IndieFEST (LaJolla, CA, 2015) and the Best Hawaii Film (2015) from Honolulu Film Awards and was an official selection at film festivals around the world including Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Dance on Camera Festival (2015), Mykonos Biennale (2016) and the International Festival of Films on Art (Montréal, 2016). Her second film, "Marmo" received an Award of Merit from IndieFest (2016) and First Prize in Videoarte from the Videoconcourso Francesco Pasinetti in Venice and has screened as an Official Selection at festivals throughout the world including the Venice International Film Festival (2017), Signes de la Nuit (Paris, 2017), Trans(mit): Movement in Film Festival (London, 2017), Toronto Short Film Festival (2018) and NYC Independent Film Festival (2018). Her choreography has been presented by the Athens Festival (GREECE), House of Composers (Moscow, RUSSIA) Lincoln Center Out-of -Doors Festival, Baltimore Museum of Art (Baltimore, MD /USA), Blossom Music Festival (Cleveland, OH/USA) and Artquake (Portland, OR/USA) among others. A Certified Movement Analyst, she has taught at New York University, Laban-Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS/NY), Les Grands Ballets Canadiens (Montréal, CANADA) and in Italy at Università di Venezia/Ca’ Foscari, Centro Teatro di Ricerca and INDACO (Indomite Incursioni di Danza e Arte Contemporanea) in collaboration with Danza Venezia.
LAURA BOATO is a Venetian-based choreographer, filmmaker and educator. She was a finalist for the 2010 Young Dance Author Prize from Opera Estate Festival Veneto and won First Prize at the 2015 International Orient Occident Festival for her trio, “Incarnazione”. Her choreography has been presented in Venice by La Biennale Danza, the Toni Benetton Museum, Fondamenta, Nova and Teatro Goldoni and by Lavanderia a Vapore di Turino, Vascello di Roma, Teatro Comunale in Vicenza, MART in Rovereto and Elfo Puccini in Milan. “Marmo”, her first collaboration with Nancy Allison won an Award of Merit from Indie Fest (La Jolla, CA), First Prize in Videoart from Videoconcourso Francesco Pasinetti and was screened at the 74th Venice International Film Festival. Since 2002 she has been the founder and director of Labratorio Danza Contemporanea di Laura Boato in Mogliano and the creator and artistic director of the innovative Festival A Piede Libero.
