Writer and director of plays and short films in Australia including THE SHEDS, GOUGH, DANE, ROPE, THE WAR ROOM, BENEATH THE WAVES and FERNANDO'S RIDE.
My film BENEATH THE WAVES is a passion project for me. I wanted to tell the story with heightened reality so decided to work with non-actors; Higin and Felix are real Australian surfers. Entirely dialogue free, the film forces the audience to focus on performance, and what the characters are feeling. The story, about the brothers' relationship, is a study on masculinity.
