Director Biography - Vivian Cardoso

Vivian Cardoso was born in Curitiba, Brazil in 2002. She started her artistic career as an actress specialized in musical theater but it was when studying acting for film abroad at NYFA that she discovered her passion for film and her desire to work behind the cameras. So, in 2021 she started studying Film at University where she participated in the production of several short films and then in 2022 she came up with the idea of "13: For Girls", pairing up with her colleague and producer Beatriz Litzinger to create a short film that would discuss the themes of sexism and the early sexualization of girls, in witch she acted as Director and Screenwriter.

"13: For Girls" is not only my way of launching mine and my colleagues work into the world, it sends a message and alerts parents, teachers and adults that live with children to the risks of sexism and the influence of media on young girls
