I Am They

I Am They is a feature length documentary that explores non binary trans issues from the personal perspective of Fox and Owl Fisher, non binary trans activists from the UK. In the film they explore issues and challenges faced by non binary trans people, such as legal recognition, language, health care and social acceptance. Despite the film being educational and exploring social issues, it is also a love story of two people from totally different backgrounds finding each other.

Director Biography - Fox Fisher

Fox is a non binary trans campaigner, film maker and screenprinter. They first appeared on the documentary My Transsexual Summer (2011), which sparked a conversation with the UK about trans issues. They started the film project My Genderation, which is a film project focusing on trans people and their experiences. Their films have been shown on platforms such as Channel 4 and the BBC. They have also appeared on public television and media where they advocate for trans rights, such as on Victoria Derbyshire and on Good Morning Britain. Fox also published the Book Are You A Boy Or A Girl and is currently working on their second book along with their partner Owl, called The Trans Teen Survival Guide.

In 2017 they received an honorary doctorate from the University of Brighton for their activism, film making and campaigning for trans rights.
