Director Statement

About 12 years ago, suffering from an acute case of attitude, I turned my back on film making. The highs (a life-time achievement award and working alongside directors including Spielberg, Cameron, and Coppola) had been offset by the lows of churning out empty, episodic TV.
I was done.
During my “hiatus,” I went back to school, earned a degree in Spiritual Psychology, and applied what I’d learned in a new career as a meditation facilitator and life-coach. With three decades of sobriety, I also found myself taking a deeper (sometimes breath-taking) dive into my own recovery from addiction.
Last year, Heather McPhaul gifted me with the chance to make this film. It turned out to be a profound experience of creative joy that clearly drew on what I’d gained “while I was away.”
Now it’s done, and I let it go, confident these 19 minutes will leave you entertained and up-lifted.
