The Monk

Dan Grin was born in Saransk, Mordovia, Russia. He moved to Moscow in 1997. Already at the age of 10, Danil realised that filmmaking is something that he would dedicate his life to. Devoted to his passion, Danil began to teach himself the art of filmmaking, referring to international literature and other available sources. Danil has changed many schools and even studied in Malta for a year in 2006. Taking decisive steps towards the industry, Danil worked in a cinema, on various of short-film projects and, crucially to his career, the first feature-length film he was a part of (as a casting assistant) was Flight Crew (2016) by Nikolay Lebedev. In 2018 Danil won list of prestigious international awards with his short film «The Monk».
