Many Clouds - The Peoples Horse
After his win in the 2015 Grand National Many Cloud became a peoples favourite and his popularity grew when in 2015 and 2017 he was named the horse of the year by a landslide public vote.
His 2017 season was looking like another successful one till he took on the mighty Thistlecrack at Cheltenham.
Both horses went to war over the last few fences and although Many Clouds would get the better of the unbeaten youngster, he passed a few minutes after the line.
Many Clouds lost his life doing what he loved and we wanted to pay tribute to him, by producing this short film using some of the footage we’ve taken with and about him over the years.
Many Clouds meant so much to many people, not least one of our directors Nathan Horrocks, who rode him every morning.
Many Clouds did great things for us as a company, not least when winning the Grand National wearing our JockeyCam.
We hope it goes some way towards showing why Many Clouds will be remembered as The People’s Horse.

After ten years as a national hunt jockey, visual director Nathan has an eye for a stride to ensure the perfect take on camera. Combining his two passions - film and horses - Nathan brings credibility, authenticity and a wealth of industry knowledge to the creative process at EP. After finding himself constantly frustrated with the undervalued visual output of his sport, in comparison to other extreme sports, Nathan had aspirations to engage those familiar, and unfamiliar with the equestrian world, through the use of film. In 2012, he met Sam and Dave who shared these values and the EP adventure began. The vision to reach out beyond the core audience, and portray the sport in a fresh light, inspiring those new to horses, is a strong focus of Nathan’s life and role.
Many Clouds meant the world to me and all the team at Rhonehurst stables. His success effected us all after he won the 2015 Grand National, he really became the nations horse.
Clouds loved being a race horse and my favourite time of the day was getting up every morning to go and ride him before my day job as Visual Director at EP.
He was more than just a successful race horse, he was my best friend and making this film is my way of thanking him. He literally changed my life.
