The destiny of an actress. Featuring Liam Neeson as the voice of Leo Tolstoy. Norwegian actress GØRILD MAUSETH is challenged by the almost impossible task of playing ANNA KARENINA in a language she never spoke and in the author’s home country. She embarks on a journey to learn Russian and discover the real reasons why Tolstoy wrote the novel. What Gørild does not know is that Anna Karenina will become the role of her life and change her forever.

Director Biography - Tommaso Mottola

Director, producer, screenwriter
Educated as an architect, he began his career with the staging of art performances in his hometown of Naples. In his early twenties he enters the international film community as assistant to Milos Forman. In mid-80’s he establishes Spectre Film, which produces commercials and documentaries that have won awards at several international film festivals. Later he directs commercials, Tv series and soaps, he writes scripts for the screen, and stages multimedia events. His debut as film director is in 1992 with The floating island. Since then he has worked both as filmmaker and as a Festival director. On 1994 he co-founds Capalbio Cinema International Short Film Festival, which he directs since 1999. Board Member of State Film Co-production Committee in the 90’s, he’s European Film Academy voting member since 2001. He is preparing Kjærlighet er… (Love is), a documentary about Love in Norway, and writing his next feature film, which will take place in Russian Far East.
