Set Aside the Cobwebs in the Sky (Gently Open Your Eyes to Sleep)
Set Aside the Cobwebs in the Sky (Gently Open Your Eyes to Sleep), is an experimental multi-channel live cinema performance and installation based on four musical movements. Thematically, Cobwebs embarks on a journey through anti-nostalgia, fragmentation, confusion, powerlessness, loss of identity, manufactured masculinity, and the lasting residue of the past.

Jonathan Joy is a Pennsylvania-based experimental moving-image maker and sound artist. He has an extensive production design skill set in cinema, non-linear narratives, sonic explorations, and custom-built instrumentation.
My blend of sound and moving images speaks to an array of components at the intersection of immersion, embodiment, communication, engagement, temporality, proprioception, tactility, and fractal spaces. My explorations and experimentation in the cinematic and media arts is focused on the active, participatory process of observation, absorption, affect, bodily movements and the deceleration of time in the cinematic dispositif.
