Schooling Life

College is hard. Room mating while away at college is even harder. And for liberal State University students living in co-ed Hines Hall the new semester is getting off to an even rockier start. Who can focus on making the grade with these kinds of life problems going on? While some are focused on graduation day four years from now, these students are just trying to make it through the day.

Director Biography - Jasmine Burke

Multi hyphenate, Jasmine Burke is an award-winning, highly adroit, American Actress, Filmmaker, Author, Tech Entrepreneur, and Youth Mentor. Early on in her career, Burke made her debut in film with Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls (2007) followed by The Secret Life of Bees, (2008) and the Sundance debuted, Mississippi Dammed in 2009. The beguiling, bankable talent and Harvard alum nabbed coveted roles in other popular works such as Lifetime's Army Wives, The CW's The Vampire Diaries, Meet the Browns, and the blockbuster films, Ride Along and Big Momma's House: Like Father, Like Son. She gained further prominence with her innate ability to masterfully portray intense, duplicitous, complex characters as well as demure, unassuming ones. Not only is she known for captivating rapt audiences, but she also garnered the attention of influential producers as Lee Daniels for which she secured a key role in his Fox series, Star as stylist, Danielle. One of her most notable roles is in Bounce TV’s hit series Saints and Sinners playing the impish Dr. Christie Johnson. Burke’s foray into leading lady was birthed when she starred in BET’s romcom “Angrily Ever After”, followed by the gripping and explosive social impact thriller, “Karen”. Unafraid to tackle enigmatic storylines, the studied actress with a plethora of theatrical productions in her stellar repertoire also starred in and produced TV One’s feature, “Skinned”, a culturally driven title about skin whitening she co-produced. Tapping into her creative prowess led Burke to write and direct her first film, a comedy entitled Lucky Lotto, for which she won an achievement in directing at Women In Film and Television International Film Festival. Going on to write, produce, and direct features acquired by HULU, Amazon, and Netflix, and BET. Making her network directorial debut with the rom-com Shamed https://vimeo.com/813253178 .Passionate about giving back, earned the Kennesaw State University full scholarship earner and author of the critically acclaimed Amazon book, Work Your Audition an honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism.
