Meet Jesse McMinn, a born-and-raised Space Coast filmmaker telling impactful local stories through his art. Jesse hit the ground running with his 2024 debut short doc, 1000 Days In: The Romelia Farms Story, which swept up multiple regional awards—notably taking home the Robert Kurrus Humanitarian Filmmaker Award at the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival. He’s carrying that momentum into 2026 with his newly wrapped second film, Jasper, Florida, which is traveling to a wider lineup of festivals both in and out of state. Right now, Jesse is hard at work on his third documentary, You Can't Sleep Here. Expected in late 2026 or early 2027, the film explores local homelessness assistance programs, the fallout of House Bill 1365, and the ways we talk to one another about deeply polarizing issues.
