The Bonito is Finito

Ripped from the Radio comes a timely, true, Cautionary Tale, about the half mackerel - half oak tree mutant named Bibo, the Bifoliated Bonito. A circle of life, end times fable, about a happy hermaphrodite, living in a pharmaceutical-laced Michigan lake. Listen and watch as chatty clams - (that sound remarkably like NPR broadcasters) tell this stunning creature's, stunning story. Featuring the voices of the BBC’s Lucy Kellaway, Dr. Crl Safina, NPR's Brooke Gladstone and WNYC's the Beautiful Andy Lanset.

Director Biography - Victor Stabin

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Victor Stabin started his art career as an illustrator. After departing illustration, he created the "Turtle Series" - a suite of allegorical biographic oil paintings. After being distracted and inspired by reading way too many ABC Books to his daughters, he decided to author his version of the genre, using the dictionary as a muse and created "Daedal Doodle the ABC Book for the Ages." As if possessed by mystical inertia the ABC book evolves from its alliterative characters*, into stories which are now becoming animations.

As an illustrator, Stabin did an album cover for Kiss, 9 Stamps for the US Postal Service and many editorial pieces for clients such as Rollingstone, Time, Newsweek magazines and the New York Times.

*Alliterative Characters - The "Bifoliated Bonito" - the letter B from the book "Daedal Doodle the ABC Book for the Ages."

The Daedal Doodle Creative Platform was the unexpected result of too much dictionary reading. The platform started out with an alliterative ABC book, the hook of the book was predicated on using unfamiliar words to create characters. The characters started getting turned into stories that are becoming animations.
The mission of this platform is to re-introduce the power of words globally while simultaneously going across the universe alphabetically one animation at a time.
