Director Statement

This film is motivated by the relationship we have with our parents, especially in an Asian household where affection is not usually outwardly expressed.

This idea of using crab as a metaphor started when we noticed the similarities of our fights we had with our parents to the nature of crabs: the selfish desire to win an argument, the refusal to open up, and the skittish avoidance of confrontation.
