Laureano is a versatile artist from Mendoza, Argentina, born on 1983. He began his career as a folk/pop singer-songwriter and later expanded into the film industry as a composer, arranger, and mixing engineer. He has two albums and a book of stories published, and "This is not a mirror" is his first audiovisual work as a writer/director. He owns Nautilus Audio, a top-tier post-production studio.
Since I was young, I have always felt the need to tell stories. Whether it be through music or short stories, I found storytelling to be a unique and powerful form of expression. However, over time, that need grew larger, and I felt I needed to go beyond what I had done up until that point.
That's when I decided to explore the world of film, an art form that, in my opinion, encompasses all the arts and offers a complete sensory experience to the viewer. I wanted my audience to not only hear or read my stories but to live them, feel them, and experience them in all their senses.
Coming from the world of music and sound, I knew I could leverage my experience in these areas to tell stories in a more effective and exciting way. I wanted music and sound to be an integral part of my work, not just to complement the image, but to enhance it and take it to a completely new level.
In this way, I set out to create a truly unique cinematic experience, one that not only told a story but also made it feel. I wanted my audience to immerse themselves in my world and experience every emotion, every detail, and every nuance of my narrative in a deep and meaningful way.
