Carlos Rivera Fernandez is a Puerto Rican filmmaker and an MA candidate in visual anthropology from the University of Manchester (2023). He works in both narrative and documentary.
Valencia is a second home. I studied abroad there in the summer of 2019 with FSU International Programs, and was able to return in the spring of 2022. While there, I was able to work with local artists to craft an ethnographic portrait of the seminal Valencian festival known as Fallas. I hope this film enlightens viewers to a city, culture, and people that I hold very dear to my heart.
