Director Statement

Every now and then you come across a story that hooks you and doesn’t let go. This is how I felt after reading Jameel’s script for Signs. The story of two misunderstood people in a cruel world who find each other, fall in love, and allow each other to be seen. Once I read it, I knew I had to be involved.

In a time where our world is so divided, I felt that we could all use a story of love and innocence. It was so fun to take a character that you’d never think twice about and take a close look at the beauty underneath. This project was a healing one for me, and it was an incredible honor to work with Jameel Saleem and Danette Wilson, two extraordinary people and gifted artists.
