NORBERT SHIEH is a Taiwanese-American filmmaker exploring new perspectives on the everyday through delicate and formal observations.
Based in Los Angeles, his films and collaborations as a cinematographer have screened internationally in festivals and venues, including Sundance, Rotterdam, New York Film Festival, Ann Arbor, Jihlava International, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, LACMA, REDCAT, Anthology Film Archives and Paris’ Centre Pompidou.
PRESERVES, his current feature documentary in progress, is the recipient of a Creative Capital Film/Video grant. Shieh is also a fellow in Visual Communication's Armed With a Camera program.
He holds both a BA in Visual Arts from UCSD and a MFA in Film/Video from CalArts.
