'Poker Face' is Josh's first foray into directing (unless you count a 1 act play he did in college). Since high school, his primary focus has been acting. After college he moved to L.A. to pursue acting and is now successfully continuing that career in Atlanta.
Directing this film was not his goal at the outset of this production, but after adding so many other "firsts" to his resume as a result of creating this film, it felt like he would be cheating himself to not have the experience of directing as well. Subsequently, he fell in love with it and hopes that this film will be the first of many he will helm.
This project involved a GREAT deal of 1st's for me. It was my first time directing, writing, producing, and editing. It is therefore a hugely important project for me because it signifies a great deal of growth and development for me as an artist.
Regardless of how much success it does or doesn't have in the film festival circuit, I am proud of this film. Not only because it was completed (which is a feat in and of itself) but because I got to enlist the talents of several wonderfully creative people, pay them for their talents, and give them an avenue to showcase their skills. And, speaking with as much objectivity as I can about something that is totally "my baby"....I think the final product is pretty damn good!
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy it!
