From the observatory they saw me
Niginho is a ufologist, artist and, until then, an unknown uncle of Thaís. Under the starry sky of the mysterious country town of Passa-Tempo, the meeting of these two strangers brings to light a rural Brazilian sci-fi that creates a curious reflection on existence.

Giovanna Giovanini has directed and edited independent documentary projects, such as the short films 'Dominique' (48th Gramado Film Festival, 23rd Mostra de Tiradentes, 23rd Cine las Americas, 17th Zinegoak, 13th Vox Feminae, 32nd Exground FilmFest, 25th Chéris-Chéris, 27th Mix Brasil Festival); 'Who killed Chiquito Chaves?', (3th Atlantidoc, 30th Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival); and 'Banca Paraíso' (awarded at the 22nd Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and selection at the 24th Festival de Málaga). Her first feature documentary ‘Um dia para Susana’ won the Tribeca Film Institute Latin America 2015 fund. It premiered at the 42nd São Paulo International Film Festival, went through the competition at the 40th Havana Film Festival, 43rd Atlanta Film Festival, 17th Gdansk DocFilm Film, 8th MicGénero, was the opening film of the 8th Acampadoc in Panama and received a special mention from the jury at the 13th This Human World, Austria. Giovanna is editing the second feature documentary by Emília Mello, entitled 'La Química', selected for the VdR–Development Lab – Visions du Réel, as well as two other features: 'Chase' by Tatiana Issa & Guto Barra, and 'Turista Aprendiz' by Murilo Salles. Giovanna was selected for the Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires 2020.
Thaís IRS works with images and sounds to better understand what surrounds us and collaborate in reinvention. She is currently an editor. In the process of completing the short films "A Praia de Samuca" (Bh nas Telas and Paulo Gustavo), "Terrenal" and "Igual a um native" (also Bh nas Telas). He edited the short films "Mini Asilos", "From the observatory I saw" and the feature film "I don't know which city happens in his eyes". He co-directed with Francine Albernaz the independent feature film "Every map has a speech". He has a master's degree from UFRJ with the dissertation "(Non) Humans in Harun Farocki".

Editó los cortometrajes “Mini Asilos”, “Desde el observatorio vi” y el largometraje “No sé qué ciudad pasa ante sus ojos”. Codirigió con Francine Albernaz el largometraje independiente "Cada mapa tiene un discurso". Tiene una maestría por la UFRJ con la disertación "(No) Humanos en Harun Farocki".
