Experiencing Interruptions?

#BlackLivesMatter

#BlacklivesMatter addresses the other pandemic we are currently experiencing—the unlawful killing of Black people. This poem, which was written in 2015, is still as relevant today as it was five years ago. The poem incorporates news articles to illustrate the direness of the state of Black people in this country.

This poem is a part of a weekly poetry series entitled “#SundaySips,” which serves to address personal issues in an effort to create a community and encourage open dialogue and expression in a way that will appeal to a broader audience.
