MEMORIE CONDIVISE (SHARED MEMORIES) 2014

The film focuses on young students who attended the "Bambini di Sarajevo" (Children of Sarajevo) elementary school in Crespellano (Bologna-Italy) during 1994-97, when Bosnia and Herzegovina was immersed in war. The new generations now attending this school don't know why their school is named "Bambini di Sarajevo". 20 years since war ended, and seven young students, with support of their Municipality, embark upon a two week journey in BiH in order to learn more about the meaning of their school's name.

Director Biography - Ado Hasanovic

Ado Hasanovic is a Bosnian film director based in Rome. He was born in 1986 in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A 2008 Berlinale Talents Sarajevo alumnus, in 2010, he finished the Norwegian Nansen Academy focused on interethnic dialogue and later studied Directing at the Sarajevo Film Academy, from which he graduated with the short film "Mama" in 2013.

In January 2014, he enrolled in the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia National Film School in Rome, where he specialized as a film director. In 2017 he finished a Master's in Dramaturgy as a guest student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo.

His short films The Angel of Srebrenica (2010), Blue Viking in Sarajevo (2012), Mama (2013), Breath of Life Srebrenica (2015), Pink Elephant (2017), Nomophobia (2019) and Let There Be Colour (2020) enjoyed worldwide festival selections and won many international awards.

Ado is also the creator of Cortovisioni - How To Make A Short Film, a workshop format in which he teaches how to make a short film from the subject up to the post-production, and since 2015 he has been the Artistic Director of the Mediterranean Short Film Festival The Author's Passages in Sant'Antioco, Italy.

Ado recently completed his debut documentary, "My Father's Diaries." This highly anticipated project, produced by the acclaimed production companies Palomar (Italy) in collaboration with Mediawan (France), has generated significant anticipation for its upcoming release.

Film was premiered on 27 april in Teatro di Calcara in Municipality of Valsamoggia - Bologna, Italy.

Memorie Condivise (Shared Memories) is a new documentary film by Ado Hasanovic.
Film talks about young students who attended elementary school “Bambini di Sarajevo” (Children of Sarajevo) in Crespellano (Bologna-Italy) in 1994-97 when in Bosnia and Herzegovina still was the war. New generations who are attending now this school don’t know why their school is named “Bambini di Sarajevo”. After 20 years war ended seven young students, with support of their Municipality, make travel for two weeks in BiH to learn more about the meaning of their school’s name.
