Director Statement

This film came as part of a festival that invites filmmakers to create a 1-minute short inspired by a famous work of art. The work that I was given was "Son of Man" by surrealist artis René Magritte.

I used Magritte's painting mostly as inspiration in the composition of my shots as well as a nice little nod to the evolution of what people might think of when hearing "apple."

This film has resonated with audiences in the sense that it hits on some relatable themes for parents and their kids, and I think the world at large in how we interact with each other and our surroundings.
