BU:SY

Jackson Freeman has allowed his job to take over his life, leaving him oblivious to what's really important. His monotonous routine of going to and from work has left him with an empty home and a neglected family. The only glimpse of connection to the outside world is the messages he received on his answering machine that he listens to at the end of each day. However, he realizes that it may be too late to make amends for the time he has lost with those who matter most.

Director Statement

The central theme of the film - that the most important things in life are not things, but our relationships with others - is a powerful one. This theme speaks to a universal truth that many people can relate to, regardless of their background or circumstances. By exploring this theme through the story of a character who is too focused on work, BU:SY can help viewers reflect on their own priorities and consider the ways in which they might need to adjust their own lives to prioritize relationships over material things.

The storyline of a person forgetting to keep in touch with their family due to being too busy with work is a relatable one for many people in our modern society. With so many demands on our time and attention, it can be easy to let important relationships slide in favor of work or other obligations. By depicting this struggle onscreen, BU:SY can help viewers empathize with the character's experience and perhaps inspire them to make changes in their own lives to avoid falling into the same trap.
