Director Statement

In Germany 5.3 million adults suffer from depression. There is little discussion about the affected persons themselves and even less about their children. With „The Purple Child“ I want to give voice to these children and encourage them to break out of their situation. A huge contribution to the emotional authenticity of the film were my own experiences with my mother's severe migraine attacks.
