Director Biography - Susan Shearer

A Christian in the entertainment business, Susan Shearer begin her career on stage where she earned her acting chops. She came to Hollywood to pursue her passion in film and TV. Convinced she would only act as that was her hearts desire, she discovered God had other plans for her when He literally pushed her kicking and screaming into producing. She has gone on to write, direct and do many of the behind the camera, non-technical jobs.
God has blessed her films with multiple nominations and awards to gain her industry attention however her true blessing is using her creative gifts to serve Him.

Director Statement

ZACH & MYHRE was totally a God project. He directed me every step of the way when I literally had no intention of making this movie. It started with Zach's Aunt Rebecca asking me to be part of a prayer circle for Zach. When I heard he wasn't expected to live and had a dream to be an actor, I jumped on it. We dedicated the film I was working on, 'Carded', to Zach. God said that wasn't enough and told me to get up and go interview my Hollywood filmmaker friends giving Zach words of encouragement. I did that and a video was put together. Again God told me it wasn't enough so long story short, I flew to Michigan and turned Zach into Superhero Zach to fight his nemesis MYHRE syndrome. The rest is history. This is a passion piece and still touches my heart every time I watch it. (SPOILER ALERT: Zach is still with us and lives to fight another day!)
