World Order

El Diablo is an action thriller that combines Homeland (Alex Gansa) with Hannibal (Ridley Scott) in terms of atmosphere. It is a multi-layered story: El Diablo can stand alone, but is also part of a trilogy with the working title WORLD ORDER.

A Dutch crime journalist is the victim of a rancid mafia boss, until the tables turn. However, both the mafioso and the journalist turn out to be pawns in a large international chess game. The whole can cover three films, but can also be presented in a form as a series.

In El Diablo, a crime journalist, husband and father of two, changes (within two years) from a family man to one of the most wanted murderers in the country. Jack Sanders loses his wife and children at the hands of a powerful Mafia boss (Enrico Luís), but after long preparation he strikes mercilessly and ruthlessly. It slowly becomes clear to the viewer that the journalist is involved in the way in which the Mafia clan is broken down. The central role he plays, however, is a climax in the story. Joost has sought help from a powerful international organization. It is headed by a blind man who connects the underworld and the upper world, even inside the buildings of governments and multinationals. At the end, however, it becomes uncertain who is helping whom.
