Director Statement

Combining fiction storytelling with documentary techniques, WHY FOURNI is a tourism film created with passion and profound respect to this island and its generous people, giving the audiences a chance to discover an unspoiled and untouristic Greek paradise. The project was shot in eight days with the locals playing themselves.

Visiting our filming playground for the first time, I knew that words would not describe the energy of how it feels to be in Fourni. There are no landmarks, monuments or obvious must-sees. However, at the same time there are so many things to discover. That was our main challenge in terms of narration and visual language. To explore why Fourni is an exciting experience, exposing at the same time our personal creative adventure.
