Trapdoor

The pandemic has been with us for more than two years now. A virus that no one knows exactly where it really came from has been keeping the whole world on the alert ever since. It is an almost unreal, almost surreal situation in which we all find ourselves: Something invisible to the human eye, constantly changing in shape and effect, spreading unnoticed and furiously from one to another, threatens all our lives. Fear of disease and death are omnipresent. Against this background, many ask themselves how we can overcome all this and return to normality. Will there ever be normality again?
This helplessness is reflected in the sometimes contradictory actions of politicians, doctors and scientists in all countries. And while increasingly restrictive measures are taken to keep the ever-changing virus under control, society is gradually changing. That's because the effects of the pandemic are no longer just about health issues; they are increasingly causing social anxiety and creating a toxic atmosphere.
Particularly in view of the situation in Germany, I asked myself whether increasing pressure, exclusion, devaluation and restrictions are really suitable means and tools for surviving the situation in social and human terms. Doesn't this rather conceal a trap door? What kind of society will await us in the end when we have survived all this one day?
