Director Biography - Steve Cleberg

Steve Cleberg, Director of Theatre & Film at Somerset Community College since 1986, retired in 2020. He has directed and acted in over one hundred plays. As a screenwriter, Cleberg has written and produced more than a dozen films. He won the "Best Director" award at the 2018 Somerset Indie Film Festival for "Collage." His film, "A Simple Arrangement" won second place at the Roslyn Film Festival in the greater Philadelphia area.

Cleberg's play, Radio Suspense Theatre, is published by Playscripts Inc. He has also written and produced several adaptations of classical works by such playwrights as William Shakespeare, Anton Chekhov and Moliere. His first musical, Tin Pan Alley Tavern, was produced in the fall of 2014. His musical, All the Boys Love Mary, was produced in 2023.
