Ruchir Kulkarni is a Writer-Director from Pune, India. He has written, directed, and edited two short films, 'The Washroom' being his first. He has also worked on multiple projects in various capacities. From Ad films and Music Videos to Web-Series and documentaries, he has gained work experience in various genres of film and digital media.
Ruchir is an Engineering graduate, who found his calling in filmmaking. He feels liberated communicating through stories and films. That is what gravitated him to filmmaking, in the first place.
Recently, he was awarded and felicitated as one of the "75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow" (Pan India Competition) by the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, at the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2021) Goa. "The Washroom" Short Film was a part of this competition.
We are constantly surrounded by people, be it our work environment or our home. Only the true real privacy and space we tend to find is in the Washroom. We are true to our feelings and thoughts, being really who we are. The Washroom revolves around a couple who is having trouble accepting the reality thats forced upon them.
