The Vintage Hunter

"The Vintage Hunter" sneak peeks the story of Camilla Gonçalves, owner of one of the biggest thrift shops in Brazil. Through her eyes, we see the magic within second hand clothes and objects and how living a vintage driven life creates a new way of being in a world of accelerated consumption and waste. The film was shot over three days in the streets of downtown São Paulo, Brazil, a place of constant clash between the old and the new.

Director Statement

We wanted to create a film that was a patchwork itself, a collection of memories that are in a permanent state of transformation. For that, we used both digital and analogue cameras such as Super8 footage and 35mm photography, as well as images from Camilla's personal archive. Although "The Vintage Hunter" uses fashion as a starting point, it reaches out to deeper themes such as identity, memory and connection.
