Writer Biography - Vanessa Ionta Wright, Adam Marcus

Vanessa Ionta Wright is an award winning filmmaker based in Atlanta. She has written & directed several short films including a fully authorized Stephen King adaptation. She also runs the Renegade Film Festival, a festival focused on marginalized voices in genre film. Vanessa graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Video Production & Film. She is a lifelong fan of cinema, especially the horror genre. Her philosophy of filmmaking is that, “with enough passion and drive, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.” She enjoys punctuality, scary movies, a quick wit, sandwiches, the music of Michael Jackson, Halloween & Bacon Jam. She does not enjoy bugs, clowns, perpetual lateness, mean people, oppression, laziness, running more than 3 miles or curved walls.

Adam Marcus is an American film director, writer and actor. In 1993, Marcus wrote the story for and directed the ninth film in the Friday the 13th series, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday for New Line. He was 23 at the time and the youngest director ever hired by the studio. The three million dollar feature went on to gross over eighteen million domestically and became one of New Line Video's largest releases ever. In 2013 Marcus co-wrote the reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, Texas Chainsaw 3D with partner Debra Sullivan and Stephen Susco, which was the first number-one box office film in North America of the year. His most recent feature film, Secret Santa , is a return to the genre Adam loves dearly. He’s so thrilled to be back, knee deep in blood and madness!
