Chase Smell is an award winning screenwriter that currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with their partner and two beautiful cats. Some of their favorite screenplays include Get Out, Fargo, and Parasite.
After discovering Akira Kurosawa's "The Bad Sleep Well", an enthralling reinterpretation of Hamlet that confronted the specter of corporate corruption in post-war Japan, I became inspired to find stories in the public domain and reinvent them.
My reimagining of "The Reckoning" is a dramatic thriller that aims to examine the complex nature of vengeance and the long-lasting impact of the Holocaust. Now more than ever, it's essential to confront the ghosts of our history and take a stand against the dangerous ideologies that threaten our society.
