Director Biography - Savanna Wrobel

Savanna is proud of Chicago, her home and the new Hollywood.

An avid reader and fan of all genres of cinema, Savanna loves to tell her stories with the city as a backdrop, and as an active member of Chicago’s filmmaking community, serving on the Board of Chicago Film Scene. (See appendix for additional information).

Savanna spent two years at Tribeca Flashpoint Academy, with a focus in producing film and broadcast, where she learned how to maintain the discipline needed to produce while letting her creative spirit soar in writing and directing.

Her previous work includes the short film, Yellow Wallpaper. Adapted from a famous story written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the film explores themes of gender inequality and how it affects females’ mental health, at times leading to isolation. It was accepted and screened by VAiFF in the experimental category, where Savanna was invited on a livestream to talk about the film.

When not creating her own independent films, Savanna’s remains committed to filmmaking, directing and shooting fitness videos for online platforms and clients that include Bellicon USA.

The Perfectionist, follows a young woman who discovers a doppelgänger is ruining her life; a reflection of the duality inside all of us as we try to live up to the standards put upon us -- whether real or imagined.
