Director Biography - Joshua Michael, Christopher Hoard

Joshua has an extensive, broad base of experience and education, ranging from the arts to being a disabled military veteran. He is married with four children and resides in Hamilton, Montana. Joshua has been a resident for almost 2 years and just bought a home in Hamilton.
Joshua started acting at nine years old in 1983 with the Riverside Children’s Theater in California. In high school, he started dancing with the NHS modern dance company where he also worked on his skills as a choreographer. By the time he was 21 years old, Joshua had choreographed five musicals and multiple modern ballets. Some of this choreography work now including, but not limited to, Annie, Pirates of Penzance, West Side Story, The Wizard of Oz, Oliver, and a stage performance of the Walt Disney classic Newsies. Joshua has also performed with such companies as KPC Dance Company, UAA Dance Repertory & Alaska Dance Theatre.
While in the military, Joshua had a variety of different jobs besides his primary military occupation as a 91W medical specialist and combat medic; ranging from Long-range reconnaissance, section NCOIC, and senior instructor.
In 2008 he went back to school, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production in 2012. During that time, he established his first film production company called AREA 51 PRODUCTIONS LLC.
Several years later he went on to attain his Masters of Science Degree in Instructional Design and Technology in 2015. After moving back to Montana in 2017 he began to make plans to reestablish a film production company. Joshua decided to expand the initial plan of Area 51 Productions and create Selway Studios LLC as a fully functional film & training Production Company.
Mr. Gennari has an incredible passion for uplifting and
encouraging people; the passion that was sparked by studying great mentors such as John C Maxwell, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and Patrick Daugherty.
Through founding Selway Studios, Mr. Gennari desires to establish a company that is more of a collaboration, and gives his employees and mentees an opportunity to have an active voice on specific projects they are working on, while providing “on the job” training to veterans, students, amateurs and professionals looking to make a career in the film and or art industry.
