Experiencing Interruptions?

The Driftwood Improvisations

A collaboration between Minneapolis dance choreographer Rachel Bonkoungou and Wisconsin composer/filmmaker Nate Sheppard, The Driftwood Improvisations is comprised of 5 movements of music and dance. Nate performed five improvised piano pieces and Rachel improvised two dances per movement. They then took the two videos of each movement and layered them on top of each other to create yet another dimension of improvisation. The result is a fascinating study of the relationship of the body to itself.
